Accordingly, OHSAS18001 standard was published by OHSAS in 1999, which was further developed in 2007 and further integrated with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standard language and architecture. Now, the international organization for Standardization (ISO) certifies its commitment to a new standard, iso45001, to replace OHSAS18001. The standard is expected to be released in the fall of 2016.

The goal of iso45001 is to be more consistent with the use of other ISO standards, making it easier for users to implement and manage various standards. At the end of the committee meeting, a new draft international standard (DIS) will be produced in the spring of 2015, a final draft international standard (FDIS) will be produced in the summer of 2016, and the final standard will be released in the fourth quarter of 2016.
